Penn Transit is a market leader for resilient and solid wheels, loose gears, and axles. It also services and rebuilds rail transit gearboxes and wheelsets. Penn Transit is certified to AAR M1003 standard, the American Association of Railroads’ equivalent to ISO 9001.
Penn Locomotive is a leading supplier of locomotive gearing and starter gears to the world’s railroads. Its product lines include the carburized and hardened Super Gear. This premium product is recognized as the standard in the railroad industry.
The Industrial/Mining Division provides quality replacement gearing, gearboxes, crane wheels, pulleys and components to a broad base of heavy industrial markets.
Our Transit and Locomotive Divisions have earned certification from the Association of American Railroads (AAR M1003), similar to key elements of the ISO 9001 standard, and our Industrial/Mining Division is ISO 9001-certified. Penn Machine is also a proud member of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA).
